Creating a Mosque Design in Dumuria: Embracing Islamic Patterns

In mid-2023, we received a proposal to design a mosque in Dumuria, Khulna. The client, the former Minister of Land, required a beautiful two-story mosque equipped with all necessary amenities, including an open space for conducting funeral prayers.

With these specifications in mind, we focused on creating a design that reflects Islamic architecture while ensuring it meets the community’s needs. Within a 3,500-square-foot area, we designed a mosque building that spans 1,700 square feet. Our design features two minarets, pointed arch windows, and a grand gateway adorned with Islamic calligraphy, which together enhance the mosque’s aesthetic appeal.

For the façade treatment, we incorporated full-height pointed arches and Islamic pattern grills for the windows, providing both beauty and functionality. We also ensured that an open space is included at the front of the mosque for conducting funeral prayers.

In addition to these elements, we thoughtfully arranged the ablution area, drainage system, and toilets to maintain cleanliness and accessibility. The construction is currently ongoing, with the column work completed and plans for the first roof slab to be poured soon. Our goal has been to gift the village a beautiful mosque that not only meets their spiritual needs but also serves as a center for community gathering.
